Your wedding day will move quickly. There will be hugs, happy tears, champagne, laughter, and so many little moments happening all around you. But somewhere in the middle of it all, I always encourage my couples to step away together and simply take it in.
Sunset is one of those little pockets of time that makes room for that.

On Grace and Elias’ wedding day, they snuck away for a few quiet moments as the sun began to set over the lake. The light was beautiful, the location was breathtaking, and for just a little while, it was only the two of them.
There’s something so special about golden light on a wedding day, but even more beautiful is what it gives you: a chance to slow down, breathe, and remember what the day is really about.
You don’t have to do anything. Just walk together. Hold hands. Take in the view. Let yourselves feel the excitement of everything you’ve just promised each other.
And then, before the sun slips below the horizon, we’ll make a few beautiful photographs of it all, the wild landscape, the warm light, and the two of you in the middle of this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Because years from now, you may not remember every detail of the day. But you’ll remember how it felt to sneak away together, watching the sun go down over the lake, knowing that this was the beginning of your next chapter.
